Probably a minority problem:
Developing under XP I was bit by the following:
XP in its inconsequent treatment of lowe/upper case changed the names of certain folders, e.g. .../src to .../Src. Under XP you do not see this problem, but when submitting/committing packages to R-Forge, the Linux architecture below /is/ case sensitive which results in errors in the automatic building / checking process.
As converting cases under XP (+Turtoise svn) is a bit painful (you need to convert Src to Src0 and then again to src with commits to R-forge in between ...)
To facilitate things, I would like to have
(a) a button on "My Page" where I can tell R-Forge that says "I am a Windows based developer" and
(b) if this button is checked, that my files- and folder names are converted to the "right" case as described in "Writing R Extensions" whenever there is coincidence up to case with a "known" folder name.
As most of the developers are Linux-based, this is probably of low priority |
