Detailed description
R Projects need specific fields in the bug tracker (e.g. R Version and package Version)

I customized the bug tracker for arules. To customize the tracker for another package (e.g. TSP), I have to do all the work by hand again. Could we have a template which has the fields necessary for R-packages.

It is possible to define defaults, but AFAIK only for trackers automatically created for new projects, not for trackers created by users.

The template options on the "manage custom fields" page are unfortunately only for rendering templates.

What we can (and will) do is define defaults more suited to R development, but this won't help already existing projects.

Modifying existing trackers en masse is more complex, we'll have to see if this is feasible.

Tracker defaults are in gforge/common/tracker/artifact_type_definitions.php .
