Detailed description
Several functions in plotKML use (optionally) external packages to process large data or e.g. fix PNG export problems (see e.g.: http://plotkml.r-forge.r-project.org/layer.Raster.html). All these need to be checked on various operating systems before package goes to the CRAN.
