project commit lists for returnanalytics and deoptim and xts

Detailed description
I sent this email to a couple of days ago:
----- Begin Forwarded Message -----
As GSoC slot assignments get closer I'm anticipating granting students
commit access to several of our projects.

As such, I'd like to be able to monitor commits using the commits
mailing lists.

These work well for the 'blotter' project packages, but it's been so
long since I got that working that I'm forgetting if I needed to do
anything specific to make that work.

There's nothing in the R-Forge User Guide as far as specific guidance,
and I am already subscribed to all those lists. Please let me know what
I need to do to proceed.
----- End Forwarded Message -----

As I thought a little more about this I recall that I've previously had to set up post-commit hooks to do this.

Something like this:

I assumed that these were in place for all R-Forge projects, but it appears that this is not the case.

There is no 'hooks' directory in any of our project repository trees, so this doesn't appear to be something that I can add or control.

Josh Ulrich says he got the last xts commit message. I've re-subscribed to the list, we'll see if that works...

Stefan, I can confirm that the commits list for returnanalytics is working now, but the list for xts is still not working. There haven't been any recent commits to deoptim, so I'm not sure about that one yet. Could you check the hooks and config for xts at least again? Thanks, Brian

hmm. I added the hooks manually, now. this needs some deeper investigation... commit messages go to the corresponding <project> mailing lists now. best, st

Stefan, I think I'm still missing a step. - *-commits list exists, I am subscribed - enabled sending of commit messages per your instructions Still no commit messages after a test commit to the returnanalytics project. I'll patch the Users Guide after we get this sorted out... Regards, - Brian

Sorry did not look at the subject line. And what's worse, I provided wrong information... You can enable sending of commit messages very easily by going to SCM -> Administration and check the corresponding checkbox. for returnanalytics eg., got to best, st

Known issue. We have to set those hooks up manually for the time being. Could you please name to projects for which commit hooks should be enabled? best, st
