tmesh3d seems to take vertices that are have 4 values. x, y, z and mystery value. What's the 4th value for?

I've been setting them all to 1. But if I accidentally set one of them to 0 when creating a mesh, the mesh won't display at all. (shape3d, wire3d). dot3d will show the points w/ the 4th value set to 1, but not 0. haven't tried any other values.

What is it for? I can't find any mention of it in the docs (or haven't been looking in the right places).

Thanks in advance.
