Achim,

For completeness: I tried to solve the tol issue using two different approaches that seem possible within wooclap (one setting tolerance and the other setting lower and upper bound). Exporting the adjusted items set to moodle format did not show any adjustments in the resulting xml. For completeness I add the attached zipfile.

Best,
Niels

Hi Achim,

I just checked if it still worked and it does! I used

c("relfreq.Rmd", "tstat.Rmd", "tstat2.Rmd", "dist.Rmd")

as test, and it recognizes num, mchoice and schoice.

Works seems to be needed on tol for num items, and on rendering R-output.

Best,

Niels

Francisco, thanks for the this!

Adapting the Excel spreadsheet to schoice questions would be completely straightforward (Type: MCQ). It would just be of interest how text formatting (bold, italics, code, itemization, etc.) and images can be included. Maybe HTML formatting would be supported?

Whether/how mchoice and num would be supported is unclear to me. It seems that Type: GuessNumber could be used for numeric answers but there does not seem to be a correct option here.

But maybe all of this isn't necessary if the exams2moodle route works.

Hi Achim and Niels,

These are very good news, since I use exams2moodle quite often. My LMS is a Moodle platfform.

I will centainly try that way. I can even use Wooclap as incentivized live quizzes, since it is integrated in Moodle.

The Excel template for importing questions into Wooclap is attached!

Thanks a lot,

Francisco, maybe you can try out the route via exams2moodle?

In case that does not work, then you can have a look at https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674845-how-to-import-previously-created-questions which includes a short demo animation for importing an Excel file. The corresponding description says:

If you have created questions on another platform (Kahoot!, Socrative, Mentimeter, etc.) and you would like to transfer them to Wooclap, select "Import from an Excel file". You can then download a template of the required format.

Maybe you can download and share the template here?

Niels, fantastic, just using exams2moodle() would be most convenient.

And a blog post about it would certainly be useful. I didn't do anything on live voting so far because I have also given it up in my own lectures. I just used it for a year or so and then reverted to incentivized online tests (i.e., with points) rather than unincentivized live quizzes.

Hi Francisco,

Actually, I worked with it for a very short period about 13 months ago, and one can take the moodle route:

https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/1980934-can-i-move-questions-from-wooclap-to-moodle-and-vice-versa

As I recall it works!

@Achim: I forgot about this since I left voting in my teaching. I was thinking of, yet another, blog on this in R-exams.

Best,

Niels

Hi Achim,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Wooclap is integrated in my LMS, so Particify is not really and option for me. I hadn't heard about it before, but it seems very similar in spirit to Wooclap.

Find the Excel sheet format for importing quesions in Wooclap (downloaded from his web page). Do you have an example from Kahoot?, so I can have a look.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Francisco, thanks for sharing the link, I hadn't heard about Wooclap before. I just quickly logged in (via a gmail account) and saw that there is the possibility to import questions from Excel sheets. However, I would have had to upgrade to a paid account to see/try the details. So I cannot say more.

But I would expect that the Excel importer is not very difficult to set up. If you find out what the format of the Excel sheet is, you might be able to fork and adapt exams2kahoot() which also creates an Excel file for Kahoot.

Finally, if you are not forced to use Wooclap, you might try to have a look at Particify (https://particify.de/en/) which is a leaner Q&A software, for which exams2particify() already exists and works reasonably ok.
