Due to the way that moodle does random questions, they are not linked. See this question that I asked last year:
https://r-forge.r-project.org/forum/forum.php?thread_id=33666&forum_id=4377&group_id=1337

The workaround is either to create one giant cloze question, essentially 1 question = 1 dataset OR to put the relevant random information in the question text (change the data set for each random question).

I went for the latter so my questions were linked in theme but I included the relevant information (e.g. random mean and variance of the dataset) in the question header.

The added downside of 1 large question per dataset is that in moodle you can't get a breakdown of marks for cloze questions. This meant that if I just had one giant question I wouldn't be able to easily see which parts of the question the students struggled with. This was important to me.

Hello R exams community.

I would like to know if it is possible to generate (let's say) 10 different exams (20 questions each) with some questions nested among them. For example, if randomly receive question 1A, I should receive questions 2A, 3A... and so on. We want to make questions in different exercises regarding the same data. Another possibility would be to have Moodle randomly assigning one exam (out of the 10 different ones) to each of the students. Any help would be great!
