OPI 1.4 on CRAN [ Reply ]

Hi all,

The latest version of the OPI is now on CRAN. It contains some bug fixes, but the biggest change is that it now supports gaze tracking (if you are using OPIOctopus900. Note Windows XP doesn't play nicely with this feature.)

Another major benefit of the new version is that you can have all parameters to all versions of opiInitialize in one call, so that there is no need to change the call to opiInitialize if you switch simulations/implementations using chooseOpi().

The cost of this change is that now ALL parameters to ALL opi functions must be named. eg opiPresent(s,s) will not work anymore, it must be opiPresent(stim=s, nextStim=s). A minor inconvenience at first, but will make for good code in the end.

Using this version of the OPI we have implemented a full field test using ZEST() with gaze monitoring on the Octopus 900 in our lab. We have also been using it for simulations of ZEST and Full Threshold (built in).

Hope it works for you,

Andrew
