If there is no juice2.out file, it sounds like JUICE has the problem to run R at all. Just make sure in JUICE menu File > Options > External Program Paths, that you set up as the R program the file Rgui.exe, not R.exe or Rterm.exe... otherwise, not sure where could be the problem, sorry for that. Maybe this is the problem- I can't find that juice2.out file. I looked in the i386 directory and i searched the whole C drive. I have several versions of R. Just downloaded latest and pointed Juice at it but that hasnt worked either. No error message but no analysis either! Will try and do the analysis in R and leave sorting this out til next week. THANKS very much for your help so far. |

Well, now there could be a lot of options :) Could you try to find the file juice2.out in your R (it will be in Program Files/R/R-2.x.x/bin/i386 directory). If you can find it, sent it to me please, it may help to see where is the problem! D |

Dear Veronica, try one thing - open R and try to read the vegan packages by typing into command line: library (vegan) If you get error message, the vegan library was not installed correctly - this happens sometimes when you try to install vegan, while having open another session of R on the same computer, where you use vegan. In that case, resinstall vegan again by typing: install.packages ('vegan') and make sure you have only one session of R opened. Try again and if the error message in JUICE keeps, let me know! Regards David |

I have pointed juice to R, successfully i think! Then i selected 'install R libraries' and i can see various R packages being installed. BUT when i go to do an ordination I get the message 'the package VEGAN is used or was installed incorrectly. Please update it once more.' I have downloaded the most recent version of VEGAN and retried. What can I do to get it working? ps running Vista. |
