After a long hiatus, TravelR has been lightly updated to fix a few small bugs and repairing the test process so it will build correctly on R-Forge under R 2.15.0. More changes will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks as I track down a bug occurring with a particularly large network belonging to a travelr user.

The SCM now has TravelR available for anonymous browsing and checkout (see the SCM page for instructions). The R-Forge build service is being reconstructed, so built packages are not yet available. If you need windows build, get in touch. Otherwise, you can build it yourself. It's still pre-alpha, so don't get your hopes up...

TravelR pre-alpha public release

The 'travelr' package (version 0.1) has been moved into the SCM pkg directory and will (as R-Forge recovers) get built (R 2.11.0) and made available for public download. Anonymous SVN access will also be available once the services have been re-installed on R-Forge. This continues to be a pre-alpha version: a great deal can and will change as we get feedback, work through more tests, and field bug reports.

More documentation has been added to pre-alpha version 0.1-4.
A public pre-alpha release (code complete, doesn't usually crash) is anticipated by the end of the week.

There is a new version of the 'travelr' package in the pre-alpha SVN directory. Contact the project administrator if you'd like to take a peek. First public alpha version still needs some testing and documentation.

The TravelR R-Forge site is creeping into action. The project homepage (http://travelr.r-forge.r-project.org) has been updated, and the very first code release should go into the SCM repository by May 15, 2010. Subscribe to the travelr-announce mailing list (http://lists.r-forge.r-project.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/travelr-announce) for infrequent updates on the project status. There is a more general list (http://lists.r-forge.r-project.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/travelr-discussion) for discussing general issues of using R for travel demand modeling.

Pre-alpha Release

The code for the pre-alpha release (travelr version 0.1-1) has been posted to the SCM repository in the pre-alpha tree. There is a binary build as well as the source code. Many things are still untested in the current incarnation.
