2. HistData: Historical data sets - The HistData package provides a collection of data sets
that are interesting and important in the history of statistics and data visualization.
The goal of the package is to make these available, both for instructional use
and for historical research.
3. Guerry: maps, data and methods - This project comprises maps of France in 1830, data from A.-M. Guerry and other and statistical and graphic methods related to Guerry's "Moral Statistics of France".
4. SpatialExtremes - The SpatialExtremes package aims to develop tools for the modeling of spatial extremes. The knowledge of the univariate/multivariate distribution of extremes is not enough. This package will try to fill this gap.

5. spsextante - R to Sextante interface - Provides a suite of geospatial analysis tools by connecting R with the Sextante geograrphical information system (www.sextantegis.com), similar to spgrass6 and RSAGA.
9. geosphere - spherical trigonometry - Spherical Trigonometry for geographic applications, such as great circle distance and distance along a rhumb line.
10. radR - processing of radar data in R - radR retrieves data from your live radar or recorded archive and analyses it for features, which are saved in replayable files that are much smaller than raw data sets. You can extend radR via plugins.
