Dear Manoj

As the dependent variables (expenditure shares) sum up to one, you can get the predicted expenditure share of the dropped equation by subtracting all other predicted expenditure shares from one.

Arne

How to get the predicted values from the systemfit equations [ Reply ]

I am running multi stage budgeting in demand analysis using LA/AIDS model to estimate the demand elasticities for fish varieties. First stage, I have food and non-food while the second stage different food categories and in the third stage varieties of fish. I have to get the predicted values of food expenditure from first stage to the second stage systemfit equations and from the second stage to the third stage.

I have fitted the model in system fit: sf<-systemfit(systemaids,method="SUR", data=sdata, restrict.matrix=Restr, restrict.rhs=qrestr)

However, when I use predict(sf) to get the predicted values, I don't get values for the dropped model in SUR to estimate systems of equations. Appreciate if you could advice me on how to get the predicted values for all the models.
