RE: Missing Values in Beat Position Data [ Reply ]

Dear Sepehr,

We sincerely apology for the delay in replying you. We'll answer your two questions in this message.

If there is a beat position data with missing values (we assume that you're referring to the loss of a heartbeat from the ECG in the detection procedure) there will be an outlier: an RR interval too large.

There exist 2 functions in RHRV that can be used in order to eliminate outliers or spurious
points present in the RR time series with unacceptable physiological values: the FilterNIHR function and the EditNIHR function.

If you need some guide for using these functions, you may download a complete tutorial here: http://rhrv.r-forge.r-project.org/downloads.html

Nowadays, we have not implemented your idea of restarting the chain from the missing value...
But it sounds like a great suggestion!! Thank you!

We hope you'll find this information useful.

Best regards!

suppose we have a beat position data that also includes missing values. One way to deal with these missing values might be restarting the chain from the point we have the missing value. I wonder wether this is an option in the package?

Thanks,

Hi,
I wonder whether the package allows the input beat position dataset to have missing values. If so, how the package handles missing values? Does it impute them? what algorithm is used to impute missing values?

Thanks,
-Sepehr
