Dear Sepehr, We sincerely apology for the delay in replying you. RHRV has no restriction on the number of beats to get HRV measures but if your time series is too short, you'll probably get wrong statistics. An approximate rule of thumb that we use for performing spectral analysis is the following one: in order to estimate a frequency band around fs, we require the HR time series to be longer than 1/fs minutes (or if we are using the STFT, we use windows of at least 1/fs minutes) We hope you will find this information useful. Minimum number of beat positions to be able to get HRV measurements [ Reply ] By: Sepehr Akhavan on 2013-08-01 19:08 | [forum:39765] |
Hi, I should thank you for writing this very very useful package. Is there any restriction in the package on minimum number of beat positions to get HRV measurements including VLF, LF, ...? Usually softwares need a specific analysis epoch to be able to do spectral analysis and to generate HRV measurements but I've not seen any restrictions in your manual. Thanks for your help, -Sepehr |
