Contributed R Packages

Below is a list of all packages provided by project random - true random numbers.

Important note for package binaries: R-Forge provides these binaries only for the most recent version of R, but not for older versions. In order to successfully install the packages provided on R-Forge, you have to switch to the most recent version of R or, alternatively, use the package sources (.tar.gz) in older versions of R. All packages are built/checked according to this schedule.

random - True random numbers using random.org

This package provides an interface to the true random number service provided by the random.org website created by Mads Haahr. The random.org web service samples atmospheric noise via radio tuned to an unused broadcasting frequency together with a skew correction algorithm due to John von Neumann. More background is available in the included vignette based on an essay by Mads Haahr. In its current form, the package offers functions to retrieve random integers, randomized sequences and random strings.
